March 11: Space Showcase
|
Updates:
We're going on a field trip - and we couldn't be more excited! We will travel downtown and visit the Challenger Learning Center where we will continue our exploration of Space. K/1 scholars will have the opportunity to take on a space mission full of hands-on activities and the IMAX film Secret of the Cardboard Rocket. Scholars will need to bring a sack lunch. We kindly request that you pack your scholar's lunch in a Ziploc or brown bag. Sign the permission slip through the Script App by March 27th. It is time for our March conferences! Follow this link and sign up for a time to meet and discuss your whales' progress. We will hold our space showcase on March 11 at 2:30. Check out new Whale photos! SASC FIELD DAY 2020 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! OPTIMIST PARK Friday, March 13 SIGN UP HERE Sign up by March 9 Join us for a day of connections and games! Use this form to sign up to volunteer. We have slots available for preparing, managing, and cleaning up stations. You are welcome to sign up for two (or three!) consecutive slots if you want! If you have other family members who wish to volunteer, you may sign them up as well (must be at least 18 years of age). The plan is to have two volunteers at each station. The first volunteer slot begins at 9:00. The SASC Field Day committee will set up the materials and the 9 am volunteers will receive instructions of how to run the stations. The first group of volunteers will teach the next group. We have overlapped the slots so that there is time for the next group of volunteers to watch and ask questions before taking over. The first group of students arrives at 9:20 am. Students will rotate through stations. See the schedule below if you wish to volunteer while your child's class is at the park. Please note that each class will visit 6 of the 7 stations so there is a small chance that your child may not visit your station during the event. SCHEDULE Morning Rotations + Lunch = All K/1 classrooms + 2/3 Flamingos & Dolphins (FIRST AND SECOND VOLUNTEER SLOTS) Lunch + Afternoon Rotations = 2/3 Sloths & Ribbits + all 4/5 classrooms + Middle School (THIRD VOLUNTEER SLOT) School-wide lunch at the park 11:45-12:15 |
